Axis Bank expands MSME lending footprint in Telangana
Axis Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to Telangana's MSME sector, with advances of Rs. 14,847 crore to more than 24,000 enterprises in the State. The bank highlighted robust growth in lending segments and increased use of digital platforms for business loans.

Hyderabad: Axis Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Telangana during a media roundtable held here on Thursday.
Axis Bank’s MSME portfolio stood at Rs. 2.93 lakh crore as of March 2026, contributing 23.8 per cent to its total loan book. In Telangana alone, the bank has extended advances worth Rs. 14,847 crore, serving over 24,000 MSMEs. The State remains a key growth market, with strong demand across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, electronics manufacturing, aerospace, defence, IT and ITeS, and food processing.
The bank reported robust growth across its Small Business Banking, SME and Mid-Corporate segments, with year-on-year increases of 17 per cent, 24 per cent and 33 per cent respectively. Nearly 75 per cent of unsecured business loans are now processed digitally, while 79 per cent of small business banking continues to originate through branches.
Hyderabad, Medchal, Sangareddy, Warangal and Khammam are key growth markets for Commercial Banking and ecosystem-led financing initiatives, a bank press release said on Thursday.
With 199 branches and over 2,800 employees in Telangana, Axis Bank is expanding access to credit, offering tailored solutions and leveraging AI-driven platforms to enhance customer engagement.
Senior leaders Vijay Shetty, Group Head, Commercial Banking Group, and Prashanth T S, Group Head, Mid-Corporate & Medium Enterprises Group, highlighted the bank’s strategy of combining its branch-led relationship model with digital capabilities to drive entrepreneurship and financial inclusion across the State.
