Warangal: The striking AYUSH House Surgeons and PG doctors in Telangana launched a postcard campaign on Monday, the seventh day of their indefinite strike that started on August 4.

Despite it being the day of the Bonalu festival, the House Surgeons made it clear that they would not celebrate until their legitimate demand for an increase in their stipend was fulfilled. They took out a rally from Ananthalakshmi Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital in Warangal to the local Head Post Office.

There, they mailed the postcards outlining their demands to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha.

They appealed to the Chief Minister and the Ministers to immediately increase the stipends for AYUSH House Surgeons and PG doctors, ensuring parity with their Allopathic counterparts, arguing that since their work and responsibilities were equal, their remuneration should be equal as well.

They clarified that their struggle was not directed against anyone, but was solely for securing due respect, equality and justice for AYUSH doctors, while expressing confidence that the government would understand their situation and ensure justice soon.
