Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday constituted a high-level committee to organise grand celebrations across the State to mark 75 years of Indian Independence. He allocated Rs 25 crore for the celebrations to be conducted across the State as part of the nation-wide ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiated by the Union government. The celebrations will commence on March 12 and will go on for 75 weeks before culminating in the Independence Day on August 15, 2022.

Later, Chandrashekhar Rao held a review meeting with the officials concerned at Pragathi Bhavan and issued instructions on different programmes to be organised as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.

Azadi ka Amrit MahotsavAs part of the celebrations, the Chief Minister decided to hold the inaugural function of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ at the Public Gardens in Hyderabad and also the Police Parade Grounds in Warangal on March 12.
