B Rithwik and RVSS Ramanjaneyulu won the juniors and open category titles respectively at the 239th Brilliant Trophy chess tournament in Hyderabad, with strong performances across multiple age categories in the competition

Hyderabad: B Rithwik of Kendriya Vidyalaya (Picket) and RVSS Ramanjaneyulu won the juniors and the open category titles respectively in the 239th Brilliant Trophy chess tournament at Brilliant Grammar School (Dilsukhnagar) here on Sunday.

Rithwik scored 5.5 points from six rounds while Ramanjaneyulu scored six points from six rounds.


Final placings: Open category: 1. RVSS Ramanjaneyulu, 2. K Perumallu, 3. Shaik Mohammed Irfan, 4. Krishna Kalyan, 5. Kovidhkushal Reddy, 6. Suresh Duvvala, 7. Tanisha Khandelwal, 8. Aarush Reddy, 9. Seshum Dhanush and 10. Jayaditya Chepuri.

Juniors: 1. B Rithwik, 2. T Vikyaath, 3. Sai Prashul.

Boys: Under-15: 1. Sai Prashul, 2. Suraj Reddy.

Under-13: 1. T Vikyaath, 2. T Shreyas.

Under-11: 1. K Jathin Reddy, 2. Sanathan Nanda.

Under-9: 1. Naga Vaishanth, 2. Sai Anirudh Sharma.

Under-7: 1. Devansh, 2. Naksh Kanyamarala.

Girls: Under-15: 1. Himaja Prakhya.

Under-13: 1. Anika Reddy Lingala, 2. Gajjela Sameeksha.

Under-11: 1. Harini Balina, 2. Rishika.
