B Shivadhar Reddy is new Telangana DGP with Full Additional Charge
The Telangana government has appointed senior IPS officer B Shivadhar Reddy as Director General of Police (Coordination), with Full Additional Charge of DGP (Head of Police Force). With Dr Jitender set to retire by month-end, Shivadhar Reddy steps into the role backed by over three decades of service.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government appointed 1994 batch IPS officer, B Shivadhar Reddy, as Director General of Police (Coordination) and he will also hold Full Additional Charge (FAC) of Director General of Police (Head of Police Force) Telangana.
Dr. Jitender is set to retire on attaining the age of superannuation by the end of this month. The orders were issued by the State government on Friday.
Shivadhar Reddy is a native of Peddatundla village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal of Ranga Reddy district.
A 1994 batch officer, he currently holds the rank of Director General of Police and serves as the Chief of the Telangana Intelligence Department. Over three decades of service, the officer has held several key assignments at both district and state levels.
The important positions held by him include DIG, Chief of SIB, Additional Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Director, ACB Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam City, the first chief of the intelligence department in Telangana in the rank of Inspector General.
He later was posted in the Personnel Wing, Railways and Road Safety after his promotion to the rank of Additional DGP.
In December 2023, the Congress government reinstated Shivadhar Reddy, as Chief of Intelligence in the rank of Additional DGP.
