B.Tech student dies as car plunges into tank in Peddapalli

Peddapalli: Velpugonda Rakesh (26), a B.Tech student, died when his car plunged into a tank after hitting a tree near Kanagarthi of Odela mandal on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, Rakesh met with an accident while returning home in Ramannapalli of Jammikunta mandal after dropping his relatives at Sultanabad and Kanagarthi. While passing through the bund, he lost control over the wheel and hit a tree before plunging into the tank. He died on the spot.
Passersby informed the police who rushed the spot and retrieved the body as well as vehicle from the tank.
Rakesh was pursuing Computer Science Engineering final year in a private college in Karimnagar. He is survived by sister Ramya. Though their native place is Sirsapalli in Huzurabad mandal, both are staying at their grandparents’ home in Ramannapalli of Jammikunta mandal after their parents died in their childhood.
Police registered a case and began investigation. The body was shifted to Sultanabad hospital for postmortem.
