Hyderabad: Chitralayam Studios’ upcoming crime comedy Baa Baa Black Sheep is progressing at a brisk pace in Meghalaya. Produced by Venu Donepudi, the film features Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, George Marian, Raja Ravindra, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oi, Karthikeya Dev, Kasyap, Vismaya, Malvi Malhotra and Samriddhi Aryal in key roles.

The story, which unfolds over the course of a single day, revolves around guns, gold and a thrilling hunt involving six individuals. Speaking about the project, producer Venu said Baa Baa Black Sheep is the first film to be shot completely in Meghalaya. “The story is set in the northeastern state, and we will shoot the entire film here. The narrative demands a unique landscape filled with natural beauty, waterfalls, mountains and exotic locations. After an extensive recce, we zeroed in on Meghalaya,” he said.

The team is currently filming in Sohra (Cherrapunji), one of the wettest places on Earth. Venu admitted that shooting in heavy rain has been challenging. “It’s tough as you rarely get the required light to roll the camera, but kudos to the team for doing an extraordinary job. The visuals will be a treat for audiences,” he added.

As part of building greater synergy, the production house has partnered with the Meghalaya government. Recently, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma met the film unit, congratulated them and assured full support for the smooth completion of the shoot.

With a well-written screenplay, a talented cast and crew, and visually appealing locations, Baa Baa Black Sheep promises to take audiences on a fun-filled ride. The film marks the directorial debut of Guni Manchikanti.

Chitralayam Studios, known for encouraging passionate talent, has drawn up a strategic plan to complete the project on time and bring it to theatres soon, aiming to entertain audiences with love, laughter and fun.
