Hyderabad: Railways’ M Mithun and Airport Authority of India’s Malvika Bansod recorded straight-game victories to clinch the men’s and women’s singles titles at the Anant Bajaj Memorial BAI Senior Badminton tournament, at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Gachibowli on Thursday.
In the men’s final, Mithun downed Aditya Joshi 21-15, 21-4 while Malvika downed top seeded Aakarshi Kashypa 21-15, 21-9 for the top honours.
In the men’s doubles, Telangana shuttler P Vishnuvardhan Goud paired with Andhra’s G Krishna Prasad to down the pair of Ravikrishna PS and Sankarprasad Udayakumar 21-9, 21012 for the crown.
Another Telangana shuttler Sanjana Santosh, who paired with Delhi’s Rohan Kapoor, defeated the pair of Dhruv Rawat and Shikha Gautam 21-14, 21-13 for the mixed doubles honours.
