Hyderabad: A day before the commencement of Group-I mains examinations, union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to cancel the controversial GO 29 and reschedule the examination.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister on Sunday, Sanjay said the GO 29 would affect the reservations of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes , Backward classes and other reserve category aspirants. The GO was creating a lot of apprehensions and mental trauma to the reserve category students, hence, keeping in mind the interest of the job aspirants, the government should immediately scrap it and reschedule the examinations, so that they could prepare for examinations properly, he said.

The union Minister asked the Chief Minister to conduct the Group-I mains examinations as per GO 55 and make a clear statement on the continuation of reservations.
