The padayatra was postponed since the party high command was observing mourning in the wake of the death of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh
Hyderabad: The ‘Praja Sangrama Padayatra’ of BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar from August 24 from Sri Bhagya Lakshmi temple at the historic Charminar stands postponed. The fresh date has not been announced yet.
The padayatra was postponed since the party high command was observing mourning in the wake of the death of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh.
In a statement, Sanjay announced that all the party programmes including padayatra stands cancelled in the wake of Kalyan Singh’s death. Recalling the services of Kalyan Singh, who sacrificed the UP Chief Minister’s post, Sanjay said the former had made relentless efforts to construct magnificent Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
A programme to welcome former army personnel into the party fold on Sunday was also cancelled.
This is the second time that Sanjay’s padayatra was postponed. It was scheduled to begin on August 9 to achieve what he described as a ‘democratic Telangana’.
However, it was postponed following instructions from BJP high command to all its MPs that they must attend the monsoon session of Parliament that concluded recently.
