Bandi Sanjay’s son to withdraw anticipatory bail plea

The Telangana High Court allowed the withdrawal of an anticipatory bail petition filed by Bandi Sai Bageerath after his arrest in a POCSO case registered at Petbasheerabad police station.

Hyderabad: The anticipatory bail petition filed by Bandi Sai Bageerath, was withdrawn from the Telangana High Court by his counsel following his arrest in a POCSO Act case registered at the Petbasheerabad police
station.

Bageerath’s counsel N. Naveen Kumar submitted a memo before the registry of the High Court seeking permission to withdraw the petition. He stated that no further orders were required in the matter. Acting on the request, the petition was listed for withdrawal on Thursday.

Bageerath’s counsel had filed an anticipatory bail petition in the court soon after a case under the POCSO Act was registered at Petbasheerabad police station. The anticipatory bail plea had earlier come up for hearing last week and the proceedings continued late into the night.

Previously, the court had declined interim bail in the case and posted the next hearing of anticipatory bail petition for Thursday, May 21, 2026.
