Bandlagudem mourns death of boy killed in road accident in LA

Jangaon: The villagers of Bandlagudem in Lingala Ghanpur mandal of the district mourned the death of Chettiepelli Arjit Reddy (14) who was killed in a road accident in Los Angeles.
The teenager was the son of Chettipelli Ramchandra Reddy, a techie, from the village. Ramchandra Reddy with his wife Rajitha and their children Arjit (14) and Akshitha (16) have been living in the US for the last 20 years and hold permanent resident cards (PR).
Ramchandra Reddy along with his wife and children was returning home in his car when another vehicle rammed their car from behind, killing Arjit, according to his uncle Ravinder Reddy of Bandlagudem. “The incident happened when they had were just 10 minutes away from home. My brother’s son died in the accident as he was sitting in the back along with his sister. We received the information on Sunday evening,” he said, adding that Ramchandra Reddy, son of Raji Reddy, settled down in the US long back.
He also owns about 10 acres of land at Bandlagudem village and visits the village once in two-three years. Since the Chettipelly family is known as the landlords of the village, they enjoy a good following among the villagers, according to the locals. A pall of gloom descended on the village following the death of Arjit Reddy.
