Hyderabad: Bank of Baroda on Friday launched ‘Centre for Agriculture Marketing and Processing (CAMP)’, its new centralised agri-loans processing units across 18 zonal offices. The CAMP is a dedicated credit delivery model with a focus on financing non-traditional agricultural products and handling agri-marketing activities. It consists of trained manpower with understanding and exposure to handling high-value credit accounts. Bank will also promote collaborations with local organisations for sourcing quality business.
“Agriculture has been the major thrust and promising segment in our advanced growth for the year. We have grown by 11 per cent (Rs 650 crore) in the gold loan segment and six per cent (Rs 54.9 crore) in the SHG segment. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are focused towards the growth of agrarian economy thus providing an opportunity for bankers,” said Man Mohan Gupta, BoB Hyderabad Zone General Manager. It is also taking up ‘Baroda Kisan Pakhwada’, a fortnight-long farmer engagement programme to acknowledge the contribution of the farming community towards economic growth, a release said.
