Hyderabad: Mollywood Actor and director Basil Joseph has finally put an end to all the recent rumours surrounding the much-awaited Shaktimaan film. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, the Godha and Minnal Murali filmmaker confirmed that the superhero film will be made only with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh in the lead role.

Over the past few weeks, there has been growing speculation that icon star Allu Arjun might replace Ranveer Singh in the project. The news had taken fans by surprise and sparked widespread discussion on social media.

However, Basil was quick to clear the air, calling the reports baseless. “There is no truth to it. Shaktimaan is happening only with Ranveer,” the director firmly stated.

The upcoming Shaktimaan movie is an adaptation of the iconic Indian superhero TV show that originally aired on Doordarshan. Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, who played the original Shaktimaan, made the character a household name in the late 90s and early 2000s.

The film has been in development for the past few years and is expected to be one of the biggest superhero projects in Indian cinema. With Ranveer Singh still on board and Basil Joseph at the helm, fans can look forward to seeing the classic hero reimagined for a new generation.

Basil, who was last seen in Maranamass, will next appear in Parashakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara. The film stars Shivakartikeyan, Atharvaa Murali, and Sreeleela in key roles.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh, who was last seen in Singham Again, is gearing up for his next release titled Dhurandhar.
