Hyderabad: Vijay scored 21 as Central Tax and Customs defeated Nizam Basketball Academy 73-59 in the second round of the Level-I of Annual League Basketball Championship held at the City College Basketball Grounds, Hyderabad on Monday.
Vijay scored two three-pointers by the end of the first quarter to put his side in an 11-point (24-13) lead. The taxmen scored 20 points in the second quarter to extend their lead 44-29 by halftime.
Later, the Nizam BA‘s Samson scored three 3-pointers to stage a comeback for his side but the strong defence of Central Tax and Customs guided them to victory. For Nizam Basketball Academy Majid scored 26, Samson and Kaushik scored 15 and 14 respectively.
Results: Round 2: Central Tax and Customs 73 (Vijay 21, Venkat Reddy 13, Vinay Yadav 12) bt Nizam Basketball Academy 59 (Majid 26, Samson 15, Kaushik 14).
