Hyderabad: Riding on Santosh’s shooting brilliance, South Central Railway defeated AOC Centre 89-69 in final to emerge champions of the Pradeep Dakoor Memorial Open Basketball tournament, organised by YMCA Secunderabad Basketball Alumni, on Tuesday.

SCR had a comfortable 10-point cushion over their rivals at the half time when they led 45-35. Santosh then scored quick points and ended with 28 to his tally while Raj added 16 points for the winners. For the losing outfit, Sowmya top scored with 20 points while Manmeet added 14.


Earlier in semis, SCR thashed KVBR 70-33 with the help of Vija’s 19 and Santosh’s 18-point shows. In the other semis, AOC trounced YMCA Secunderabad 72-71 in a thriller.
