Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar stressed the need to exercise caution and vigil while using social media.
Addressing an awareness seminar on Cyber Crimes and Financial Frauds, with a special focus on cyber-crimes against women organised by the Cyberabad Commissionerate on Wednesday, he emphasised on the constant vigilance that needs to be maintained by citizens to ensure they don’t fall victim to cyber-crime. “We have to be very careful in using social media, online transactions, matrimony sites, etc as these are some of the common ways in which people can fall prey to cyber-crimes,” he said.
Sajjanar also spoke about the various technological ways in which the Commissionerate is now equipped to combat cyber-crime and said that nabbing perpetrators has now become relatively easier.
The seminar was conducted in conjunction with Rotary Club, with Rotarian Dr Chetan Kumar moderating the online event. Rotary Club also assured Sajjanar that they will extend their support in spreading awareness on cyber-crime and ways to combat it.
