Beaten by seniors, Class 6 student attempts suicide in Mahabubabad
The 11-year-old student, Eesam Rudhwik, allegedly attempted suicide by consuming a tonic used to treat skin diseases after he was beaten up by senior students at the school.

Mahabubabad: A Class student studying at Ashram (ST Boys) School at Gudur in Mahabubabad district allegedly attempted suicide by consuming a tonic used to treat skin diseases after he was beaten up by senior students at the school.
The 11-year-old student, Eesam Rudhwik, was rushed to the Government General Hospital in Mahabubabad after first-aid at the local primary health centre in the afternoon hours on Saturday. He belongs to Tirumalagandi village of Kothaguda mandal in the district.
He complained that he was being beaten by Class 10 students every day; he was also beaten during lunch hours on Saturday and unable to bear the torture, he consumed the tonic.
The matter was taken to the notice of the warden and teachers, but they failed to act against the senior students, he said.Dr. Jagadish, who treated Rudhwik at Mahabubabad hospital, told the media that the student took Benzyl benzoate, a scabicide used to treat lice and scabies infestations, in the lid of the bottle and consumed half of it.
A CT scan and other tests were conducted to find the condition of the student, who was now under medical observation.
