Bored of gifting the same old routine flowers and plants and want a gift that leaves a memorable impact on people? Then bringing some much-needed variety in these gloomy days are miniature planters by Pots N Petals started five years ago by two like-minded women entrepreneurs.
Rani Narisetty who works for an IT company wanted to do something different for her company’s CSR activities, so she started experimenting with miniature plants and later worked on theme-based things which were much-appreciated by her colleagues.

“It began suddenly. I always wanted to do something related to art. I had a desk job at the IT company and wanted to keep my desk colourful and started experimenting, that became the seed for Pots N Petals with my cousin Roja Pudot who holds a Master’s in Botany,” says Rani Narisetty.
The duo started with plants, but later began experimenting with everyday items. “Usually, when clients approach us, we ask them about their journey and make miniatures through clay and place them in pots and make sure we don’t repeat the concept,” says Rani who balances both her job and business. The company has amassed a loyal following with more than 1,000 patrons.
“Our gifts are routinely used for gifting politicians and government servants. It is a bit challenging when we customise for well-known people in the society and ensure that the gift looks unique and makes them feel special,” adds Rani.
Ever since the duo went into business, they have taken on a variety of orders where they have not shied away from experimentation working on terrariums thematic garden, painted ceramic plates, and cutlery potted plants to name a few. “We try to bring nature closer to the public through our art and like to play with different plants while customising,” says Rani.
