Adilabad: The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour across erstwhile Adilabad district on Wednesday.

In Adilabad, Collector Sikta Patnaik unfurled the tricolour flag and said that the district administration mechanism was striving hard to ensure fruits of developmental programmes reach all the eligible, by drawing inspiration from values of Indian constitution. She stated that the celebrations were held in a low-key affair due to Covid-19 pandemic.


The IAS officer further stated that the district achieved 100 percent of the first dose of vaccination against the Covid-19, while 90 percent of the second dose was administered to the eligible so far. She said that beneficiaries of ambitious Dalit Bandhu would be identified in the month of February and units were going to be grounded in March.

In Mancherial, Collector Bharathi Hollikeri hoisted the national flag. She stated that the district administration mechanism was leaving no stone unturned for executing developmental activities and welfare schemes. She added that sustained efforts were being made to ensure growth of all sections of the society by drawing inspiration from sacrifices of national leaders.

Additional Collector D Mudhusadan Naik, trainee Collector Pratihba Singh, District Civil Supplies Officer A Prem Kumar, DRDO Sheshadri, District Panchayat Officer Narayana Rao and many others were present.

Similar celebrations were witnessed in Nirmal, Kumram Bheem Asifabad district headquarters where Collectors Musharraf Ali Faruqui and Rahul Raj unfurled the national flag on the premises of Collectorates in these district headquarters. They said that steps were being taken to effectively implement welfare schemes and development programmes, covering all the eligible beneficiaries.
