Hyderabad: Hyderabad women team suffered a humiliating 175-run loss at the hands of Bengal to crash out of the tournament with five losses in as many matches, in the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, on Saturday.
Electing to bat, Bengal rode on centuries from VR VAnitha (107) and captain Dhar (104) to post massive 322/5 in 50 overs, as none of the Hyderabad bowlers pose any threat. In reply, Hyderabad managed only 147/3 in 50 overs. Though Vanka Pooja (75 not out) and Anuradha Nayak (54) hit half-centuries, their slow-paced innings meant Hyderabad were never in the chase.
