Farmers demanded opening of procurement centres and remunerative prices
Nizamabad: Bengal gram farmers staged a protest at Salora on Saturday demanding that the government open Bengal gram procurement centres. Farmers from Bodhan mandal gathered at Salora on Bodhan-Dharmabad highway and conducted a Rasta Roko.
They demanded opening of procurement centres and remunerative prices.
Speaking on the occasion, the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society (PACCS) president of Hunsa, Alle Ramesh said farmers were losing Rs 500 to Rs 700 on each quintal as there were no procurement centres in the area. He said the government should open centres like they did previous year.
