Manchester City legend Bernardo Silva has officially joined Real Madrid on a two-year deal keeping him in Spain until 2028. The Portuguese midfielder leaves England after an illustrious nine-year spell yielding 17 major trophies
Madrid: Manchester City icon Bernardo Silva has joined Real Madrid on a two-year contract, the Spanish club announced on Wednesday.
The Portugal international departs as one of the most decorated players in Manchester City’s history, having won a haul of major trophies, including six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League crown. He made 460 appearances and scored 76 goals during a glittering nine-year stint with the English giants.
In his final season in Manchester, Silva helped City secure both the League Cup and the FA Cup. The 31-year-old playmaker is currently representing Portugal at the FIFA World Cup.
His extraordinary trophy haul with City includes six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, five League Cups, three Community Shields, a UEFA Champions League title, a UEFA Super Cup, and a FIFA Club World Cup.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Bernardo Silva have reached an agreement for the player to be linked to the club for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2028,” Real Madrid said in an official statement.
The midfielder originally joined Manchester City from Monaco in 2017.
