Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao took a sharp dig at both the BJP and Congress over their handling of the POCSO case against Bandi Bhageerath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Taking to X, Rama Rao said the BJP’s celebrated original slogan was “Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao”, which has now been modified to “Beta Bhagao, Beta Bachao”. He took a swipe at both parties and sarcastically congratulated them on the achievement. He also questioned whether this was the first time in the nation’s history that the son of a sitting Union Home Minister was absconding.
The BRS leader’s remarks were a thinly veiled indictment of both the BJP’s silence on its minister’s son and the Congress government’s reluctance to make an arrest.
He also targeted a section of the vernacular media for allegedly ignoring the case. “A section of Telugu media that was in ‘Money Trap’ must remember that today social media outweighs their collective power,” he added.
