Kothagudem: Tiruveedhi Sevas and cultural programmes which are a part of Mukkoti Vaikunta Ekadashi celebrations at Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Temple at Bhadrachalam in the district have been cancelled.
The decision was taken following the orders issued by the State government which imposed restrictions on rallies, public meetings and mass gatherings of all types in the State in view of the rise in omicron cases.
In a statement on Monday the temple Executive Officer Banoth Shivaji said all public events as part of the celebrations were cancelled till Jan 10. The decision on Teppotsavam to be held on Jan 12 and Uttara Dwara Darshanam on Jan 13 would be taken on Jan 10 in accordance with the government orders, he said.
However, all the religious rituals and ‘Alankaram’s would be performed as usual at the temple and Nitya Kalyana Mandapam and devotees would be allowed to have the darshan of the presiding deity duly following the Covid norms, he said.
It might be noted that the authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the celebrations with an estimation of one crore rupees. Covid crisis has also cast its shadow on Mukkoti and Sri Rama Navami celebrations in 2020 and 2020.
On the first day of Mukkoti celebrations on Monday Lord Rama appeared in Matsyavataram.
