Bhadradri Temple first phase development to be over by the time of Godavari Pushkarams: Minister Surekha

Kothagudem: Endowments Minister Konda Surekha informed that the first phase of Bhadrachalam Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam development works would be completed by the time of the Godavari Pushkarams, which will be held in June-July 2027.

Speaking to the media on Friday after attending the Kalyana Mahotsavam of Lord Rama and his consort Seetha Devi at Bhadrachalam, the Minister said the State government has sanctioned Rs 351 crore for the first phase works.


The groundbreaking ceremony was performed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, and the Endowments department would strive to complete the development works in time for the Godavari Pushkarams. The necessary land acquisition in the area has been completed.

Funds for the second phase development would subsequently be released, and the remaining development works would be completed by the time of Krishna Pushkarams, Minister Surekha noted.

Under the first phase, expansion and development of Godavari Ghat would be taken up at a cost of Rs 75 crore, while Rs 180 crore would be spent on the expansion and infrastructure development of the temple complex.

Rs 96 crore would be spent on the development of the temple precincts and surroundings. A government order Rt No. 167 was released on March 25, giving administrative sanction to the first phase works.

In all, Rs 586 crore would be spent on redevelopment and rejuvenation of the temple and town. In the second phase, development works on six acres of Kapa Ramalakshmamma land would be taken up with Rs 108 crore. In the third phase, Rs 127 crore would be spent on Bhadrachalam town development.
