Khammam: Bharat bandh called by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of over 40 farmer unions, passed off peacefully in erstwhile Khammam.
The bandh coupled with heavy downpour has affected normal life. Business establishments, shops, schools and colleges remained closed for the day as the public extended solidarity to the bandh. Public transportation was also affected due to the bandh.

The Centre was giving priority to the interests of corporate companies instead of farmers and the common public, the CPI leader B Hemantha Rao alleged.
