Hyderabad: Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka directed power officials to prepare power supply plans for the next seven years for the State.
Bhatti, who held a review meeting with the officials of Energy Department at the Secretariat on Monday, said currently there was a peak demand of 15,700 megawatts in the State, and as the power demand was likely to touch 27,000 MW in the next seven years, the officials should prepare plans accordingly. He also asked officials to adopt modern technology in accordance with the changes coming in the power sector. He directed Energy Secretary Ronald Rose to set up a research centre at the Transco facility to introduce new technology.
Ronald Rose briefed the Deputy Chief Minister about the power supply situation in the State and construction of substations and other important developments taking place in Transco.
