Bhongir: District Collector Pamela Sathpathi on Monday instructed the officials of Agriculture department to encourage farmers to take up organic farming.

Inaugurating organic food products stall on the premises of the District Collectorate here, Pamela Sathpathi said that cultivation with organic fertilizers will bring down input expenditure. In addition to this, crops raised through organic farming have good demand in the market, she said, and directed the officials to create awareness among the farmers on organic farming.

District Agriculture Officer Anuradha said 62 farmers were identified in the district who had adopted organic farming. They can display and sell their crops at the special stall setup on the premises of the district Collectorate.
