Bhukya Yashwanth Naik from Telangana achieves historic ascent of Mt. Gorichen

The climb of Mount Gorichen was completed on September 19 after an 18-day expedition that began on September 4. Yashwanth Naik, alongside Transcend Adventure Company, became part of the first civilian team to successfully summit the challenging peak.

Hyderabad: Bhukya Yashwanth Naik, a 20-year-old mountaineer from Telangana State, has made the historic ascent of Mount Gorichen, a revered and formidable peak in Arunachal Pradesh.

The ascent of Mount Gorichen took place on September 19, following an 18-day expedition that began on September 4. Yashwanth Naik, accompanied by Transcend Adventure Company, was part of the first civilian team to successfully reach the summit of this challenging peak.


The route was particularly treacherous, with loose rocks and the daunting Marine Glacier adding to the difficulty.

Reflecting on his journey, Yashwanth Naik expressed his deep gratitude to his mentors, supporters, and well-wishers. “This achievement is not just mine; it belongs to everyone who believed in me and supported me on this journey. Climbing Mount Gorichen has been a lifelong dream, and I am honored to have accomplished it,” he said.

In the process of making the ascent of Mt Gorichen, which is the highest scalable peak in Arunachal Pradesh towering at 6, 4 88 meters above sea leave, according to reports, Naik also became the youngest to successfully summit. “I hope my story inspires other young people to dream big and persevere, no matter how challenging the path may seem,” he said/.

In addition to this remarkable feat, Yashwanth Naik is currently preparing for his next challenge: scaling Mount Everest. Yashwanth Naik hails from a tribal agency area in Telangana state, where he began his journey with modest resources but immense determination.

His journey from Telangana’s tribal agency to scaling some of the highest and most difficult peaks in the world is a true testament to the power of perseverance and the human spirit. Through sheer hard work, resilience, and an undying passion for mountaineering, he has risen to scale some of the most challenging peaks in the world, a press release added.
