Hyderabad: Saturday evening, a cafe in Hyderabad saw a unique event with LGBTQ+ community coming together for Hyderabad’s Bi/Pan Fest.
A first-of-its-kind event organised to highlight the bisexual and pansexual spectrum of the community, the event was organised by Patruni Chidananda Sastry, a drag artist. City-based LGBTQ NGO Mobbera Foundation and Humans of Nirvana also collaborated to make this happen.
The event started off by a drag performance by Sastry and a gripping play by theatre artist Sajiv Pasala. It also had thought-provoking talks and discussions on gender, sexuality, consent, safe-sex practices, informed consent and more.
Sravan Telu, city’s only male belly dancer also performed at the event which also included a several other performances.
“It is hard to find a support system even within the queer community for people who identify as Pansexual/Bisexual and these people face stigmatisation even within the community. They are not given any validation and events like this help create awareness about the multiple-sexuality spectrum within the community,” said Sastry.
