Narayanpet: A forgery attempt involving Narayanpet MLA’s signature to remove a watchman from service and appoint another candidate illegally came to light at the Jyothirao Phule Gurukul School of Kotakonda located in Marikal of Narayanpet district. With timely intervention, the police foiled the attempt and arrested the accused.

According to police, a woman staff member at the Gurukul, along with her relative – an employee at Makthal Gurukul, allegedly conspired to secure a job for her colleague’s husband in exchange for money.

The duo falsified documents, claiming that the current watchman had aged and was unable to perform duties effectively, to push for his removal. When the woman managed to get a recommendation letter from the head office for the change, the school principal objected.

In response, the accused allegedly forged the signature of Narayanpet MLA Parnika Reddy to bypass objections. However, due to school holidays, the forged letter was not immediately acted upon.

The scam came to light when the watchman learned about an attempt to remove him from the job and alerted his son, who quickly informed the MLA’s office.

Upon verification, the MLA’s office confirmed that no such recommendation had been made and complained to the police.

Following an investigation, police arrested the accused and sent them to judicial remand. Authorities are now probing further links in the case.
