Big C to add 250 stores with an investment of Rs 100 crore in two years
In the last 19 years of our operations, we have set up 250 company-owned stores in three States. We plan to add 100 stores in the next one year and 250 in next two years, doubling our footprint to 500 company-owned stores.

Hyderabad: Mobile phone retailer Big C Mobiles, which currently has 250 stores spread across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, is planning to double its footprint in the next two years, with an investment of Rs 100 crore.
M Balu Chowdary, founder and CMD, Big C Mobiles told Telangana Today, “In the last 19 years of our operations, we have set up 250 company-owned stores in three States. We plan to add 100 stores in the next one year and 250 in next two years, doubling our footprint to 500 company-owned stores. We are also making inroads into tier-3 and tier-4 towns and creating employment there. We have 2,000 employees across three States and we will be adding 500 in the next 1-2 years.”
“We will foray into Karnataka and strengthen our markets in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. We currently have 105 stores in Telangana alone and there is scope to further expand our presence here. We will enter Karnataka next year and will create at least 100 stores there.”
The company, which has adopted an omnichannel strategy to expand operations, has just roped in actor Mahesh Babu as its brand ambassador.
Big C has attained pre-Covid-level sales with work from home and education going online, creating demand for tabs and smartphones.
