Hyderabad: The Vanasthalipuram police caught a person in alleged possession of 75 sachets of marijuana, weighing 500 gm at Injapur on Tuesday.
The arrested was identified as Santosh Roy alias Santosh Ray (34), a native of Bihar working as a van driver in Injapur of Abdullapurmet. Police said Roy, who came to the city in search of work along with his family two years ago, was working with a dairy, after which he began allegedly selling drugs.
“While he was searching for marijuana, he met a person from Turkayamjal, who is into drug peddling for quite some time, and procured drug sachets from him on a commission basis,” said an official. Based on a tip-off, the police nabbed him and seized the drug sachets from him. Efforts are on to identify and nab the person who supplied Roy with drugs.
