Hyderabad: Md.Reyan of Bihar won the 4th Hyderabad All India Below 1600 FIDE Rating Tournament that concluded in Joy International School, Bachupally, on Saturday.
Reyan scored 8.5 points at the end of the ninth and final round. Three players –Hriday Panchal (Delhi), Viswanath Kannam (Telangana) and Haridevi (Tamil Nadu – were tied for the second place. But Panchal with a better tie-break scored, took the runners up spot. Kannam finished third.
Top Ten Places: 1.Md.Reyan, 2.Hriday Panchal, 3.Viswanath Kannam, 4.Haridev, 5.K.Adarsh, 6.Arvind Iyer, 7.Chandra Prakash, 8.Dhiraj Patil, 9.Ayush Shirodkar, 10.Narayan Iyengar.
Important Results (9th round): Md.Reyan (8.5) drew with Arvind Iyer (7.5), Hriday Panchal (8) bt Muthuraman (7), B.Gowtham (7) lost to Viswanath Kannam (8), Pavan Karthikeya Varma (7) lost to Haridev (8), Advait Ratnakar (6.5) lost to Dhiraj Patil (7.5).
