Hyderabad: The Kandukur police arrested one person who allegedly stole a bike last week and recovered the vehicle from him.
According to the police, the man, G Anjaneyulu, stole the bike belonging to one Mohd Imran Khan from Kotaguda village in Kandukur on January 14 when the vehicle was parked in front of Khan’s house.
After stealing the bike, Anjaneyulu was roaming in the city when traffic cameras installed at Basheerbagh captured images and his photograph for traffic violations.
“As the phone number of the vehicle owner was available in the records of the Transport Department, a message of the Traffic challan for the violation was sent to the owner of the vehicle. Using the details, a police team checked the challan generated and later with the help of facial recognition software, tracked down the offender at Abids in the city on Thursday,” the Kandukur police said. Anjaneyulu was arrested and produced before court.
