Hyderabad: Two persons were killed and another critically injured in a road accident on the Punjagutta flyover late Tuesday night.
According to police, the victims — Srinivas (25), Veeru (28) and Bharat (30) — all residents of Balamrai in Secunderabad, worked as construction labourers. Around midnight, after consuming liquor, they started for Banjara Hills on a motorbike.
Srinivas was riding while Veeru and Bharat were pillion riders. “On the Punjagutta flyover, Srinivas lost control and rammed the bike into the sidewall. Due to the impact, all three were flung off the vehicle and landed on the road below,” an official from Punjagutta police station said.
Police personnel nearby rushed the injured to Osmania General Hospital. Srinivas and Bharat succumbed while undergoing treatment, while Veeru remains critical.
A case has been registered and investigation is on.
