BITS Hyderabad professor elected as TAS Fellow

Prof Pradyumn Kumar Sahoo of BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, has been elected a Fellow of the Telangana Academy of Sciences for his contributions to mathematical physics, modified gravity, general relativity and theoretical cosmology, adding another academic recognition.

Hyderabad: Prof Pradyumn Kumar Sahoo from the Department of Mathematics at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, has been elected as a Fellow of the Telangana Academy of Sciences (TAS) under the Physical and Mathematical Sciences section.

The TAS confers this honour on distinguished scientists, academics, and researchers in recognition of their outstanding contributions and sustained leadership in scientific research and higher education.

Prof Sahoo, an eminent researcher in the fields of modified gravity, general relativity, and theoretical cosmology, has contributed to mathematical physics and cosmological modeling.

In addition to his research contributions, he serves as a Council Member of the Indian Mathematical Society (IMS) and the BRICS Association of Gravity, Astrophysics, and Cosmology (BRICS-AGAC).

He was also recently awarded the prestigious President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) Visiting Scientist Fellowship by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, administration, faculty and students congratulated Prof Sahoo on the State-level academic honour.
