BITS Hyderabad startup develops autonomous defence tchnologies for Indian Army
Founded by BITS Pilani Hyderabad students, Beijan Tech is developing autonomous defence technologies for the Indian Armed Forces. Its systems include GPS-denied UAV navigation, autonomous artillery positioning and swarm-control software, with its navigation module receiving LOIs from eight military units.

Hyderabad: What began as a student engineering project at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, has evolved into a defence technology startup developing intelligent systems for the Indian Armed Forces.
Founded by undergraduate students Naman Kasliwal and Shiv Patil, Beijan Tech is working on autonomous battlefield technologies designed to enhance navigation, targeting, and coordination in modern defence operations.
Operating from the Coras Lab at BITS Hyderabad, the startup is developing an integrated ecosystem of hardware and software solutions that enable seamless communication between battlefield assets through a secure mesh network, reducing dependence on vulnerable communication and navigation infrastructure.
Among its flagship innovations is the Beijan Autonomous Navigation Module (BANM), a compact edge-computing module that enables unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to navigate in GPS-denied environments using onboard vision systems. By eliminating reliance on satellite navigation, the system is designed to remain operational even in environments affected by GPS jamming. This technology can make any drone anti-jammable and is actively running pilots in PFFR, Secunderabad, Leh, and more locations.
Complementing this is the Autonomous Artillery Positioning System (AAPS), which modernises legacy field artillery by integrating computer vision-assisted ballistics, positioning systems, and automated motor actuation. The system significantly reduces the time required to reposition artillery for subsequent targets, enabling faster response during dynamic operational scenarios.
Beijan Tech’s Prachand Swarm Ground Station software is currently deployed with formations under the Indian Army’s Southern Command, while additional applications have been developed for the Army Air Defence. The company’s autonomous navigation module has received Letters of Intent (LOIs) from eight military units.
