BITS Pilani signs MoU with Germany’s Technische Universität Ilmenau
BITS Pilani and Technische Universität Ilmenau have signed an MoU to enhance collaboration in student exchanges, staff exchanges and research initiatives. A German delegation also visited the Hyderabad campus, exploring opportunities for deeper academic, industry and government partnerships

Hyderabad: BITS Pilani and Technische Universität Ilmenau, Germany’s prominent research-intensive university, signed an MoU to foster collaboration in areas including student exchange, academic and non-academic staff exchange, joint research initiatives, publications and future academic engagements.
A delegation comprising representatives from the Government of Thuringia, Technische Universität Ilmenau, industry representatives and officials from the German Consulate General visited the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus. The visit marks an important step towards strengthening international academic and research engagement between the two institutions, while also opening avenues for collaborations involving research organisations, industry partners and government stakeholders from the State of Thuringia, Germany.
The delegation was introduced to the academic and research ecosystem of the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus through an institutional presentation, followed by visits to key research and innovation facilities on the campus. These included the IPEARL Laboratory in Biosciences, the Translational Pharmaceutical Research Laboratory and the Electric Vehicle Laboratory under the Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) division.
