Karimnagar: Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao on Sunday said BJP has become a safe zone for tainted political leaders. Political leaders from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, who amassed huge amounts illegally, were joining the BJP, he said.

Tainted politicians right from Sujana Chowdary, CM Ramesh to Eatala Rajender were invited by BJP, Sunil Rao made these comments while addressing a press conference here on Sunday.

Reacting to BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s statement that Rajender came out of TRS by breaking ‘Gadila Palana’, the Mayor found fault with BJP president for making unethical statements. “Is Sanjay Kumar not aware of Rajender’s big house constructed in 10 acres of land in Shamirpet?” he questioned.

BJP leaders were daydreaming and making celebrations by inviting political leaders rejected by TRS. Opposing Rajender’s joining, a number of leaders from BJP were shifting to TRS.

Moreover, Sanjay Kumar was also unable to digest Rajender’s joining in BJP since the latter also hails from the BC community. Saffron party leaders failed to learn a lesson even though the party candidate lost deposit in Nagarjunasagar by-polls.

People were keenly observing all the developmental activities being done in the state. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was extending all kinds of support to farmers by supplying 24 hours free current and irrigable water to agricultural fields.

Telangana was the only State which was giving Rythu Bandhu though the financial condition of the state was in crisis due to the Covid outbreak.

There were incidents of farmers from Huzurabad area waging agitation for irrigation water. However, the situation has changed after the formation of Telangana state and water is being supplied to agricultural lands even in mid-summer.

Huzurabad people were strongly supporting TRS as well as the leadership of the Chief Minister. Leaders, who changed political parties, were doing opportunistic politics. People would not forget the development done by the TRS government and teach a befitting lesson to opportunistic politicians, the Mayor opined.
