Hyderabad: A delegation comprising BJP National Executive member Nallu Indrasena Reddy, AP Jitender Reddy, in-charge Dubbak Assembly constituency and K Anthony Reddy, BJP election cell in-charge met Saroj Kumar Thakur, Election Observer (Law and Order) on Thursday at Siddipet and complained that party candidate M Raghunandan Rao and party cadre were not allowed by the government and the Finance Minister T Harish Rao to campaign peacefully.
In a three-page letter submitted to the officer, the BJP alleged that the police were acting at the behest of Harish Rao and were not taking any independent decisions. “Police raided the house of a relative of the BJP candidate in a town that is not part of the constituency in question,” they alleged referring to the incident that took place on October 26 in Siddipet.
The BJP also complained that police tried to strangulate BJP State president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on the directions of Commissioner of Police D Joel Davis. “While he was being shifted to Karimnagar, police denied him even a sip of water,” the party said. Seeking free and fair election in Dubbak, the BJP demanded that action must be taken against the erring police officers.
