Hyderabad: CPI national secretary K Narayana accused the NDA government of handing over public properties to private companies incurring huge losses.

Addressing the CPI State Executive meeting here on Thursday, Narayana said that while Congress government had committed corruption in retail, the BJP was committing corruption in wholesale. Citing an example of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, he said while the steel plant would fetch about Rs 2.5 lakh crore, it was estimated to be only Rs 52,000 crore. Similarly, BSNL’s assets were also valued at Rs 34,000 crore against the estimated value of Rs 10 lakh crore.

He appealed that the agitation programmes conducted against Central government by 19 political parties from September 20 to 30 should be conducted successfully. However, political parties from both the Telugu States have not extended their support to these programmes, he added.
