Karimnagar: Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao slammed the BJP and Congress for trying to create hurdles in the implementation of the prestigious Dalit Bandhu scheme since they were worried about their future.

“Successive governments in undivided Andhra Pradesh never gave a thought to the welfare of Dalits in 75 years of independence, but Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao introduced the scheme for economic empowerment of Dalits,” he said.

However, opposition parties were unable to digest it since their existence would become a problem, Sunil Rao made these comments while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.

Mayor came down heavily on BJP State President and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar for making cheap comments on welfare schemes being implemented in Telangana. BJP leaders were unable to digest the response coming from the public to Dalit Bandhu scheme.

The central government led by BJP never thought about the welfare of Dalits during the last seven years. Moreover, the saffron party was always getting a political advantage by provoking the people through their provocative statements.

However, Chief Minister launched Dalit Bandhu for comprehensive development of the Dalits. Instead of appreciating the scheme, Sanjay was making cheap comments. BJP was in power in seven states. However, no state was implementing the schemes, which have been implemented in Telangana, BJP leaders should remember it.

The BJP president, who never thought about the welfare of the public, is now seeking political mileage through his deceptive statements.

Talking about Sanjay’s proposed Praja Sangram Yatra, the Mayor advised BJP leaders to do yatra to BJP ruled states. Instead, Sanjay should do Praja Vanchana Yatra (deceive yatra).
BJP leaders should know that the Chief Minister was taking the state forward in all fronts by introducing Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, Kalyanalaxmi, Shadhi Mubharak, 24 hours current and irrigation projects.

BJP leaders should tell the public what the union government has done to the Telangana state in the last seven years. What about the BJP’s promise to deposit Rs 15 lakh in the bank accounts of every citizen by bringing back black money deposited in foreign banks, he questioned.

Talking about Huzurabad by-polls, Sunil Rao said the TRS party is going to win the polls while the BJP is going to lose the election. BJP, which lost its deposit in Nagarjunasagar polls, is going to face a similar situation in Huzurabad.
