Khammam: The CPI (M) district committee has condemned the killing of Naxals in encounters. District secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao in a statement here on Friday said a solution to the Naxal problem should be found through peaceful talks and peace should be established through discussions.
Referring to Thursday’s encounters in Chhattisgarh, he said that it was inappropriate to kill 30 Naxals and it was wrong on part of Union Minister Amit Shah to say that the government would make the State free of Naxals by March 31 next year. Nageswara Rao said that making such a statement was a violation of human rights. For the past several years, innocent people were killed in tribal areas on the pretext of eradication of Naxalism. Solution to the problem should be found through talks, not through encounters, he said.
The ongoing genocide in Chhattisgarh and other States was part of the BJP’s conspiracy to hand over community resources to corporate powers by mobilising security forces and without resolving the problems in tribal areas. Encounters should be stopped immediately and the Maoists should be invited for talks to find a solution, he added.
