Hyderabad: State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said a three-member fact-finding committee has been constituted to look into the circumstances that contributed to BJP leaders meeting with TRS working president KT Rama Rao and requesting him to facilitate unanimous election to Lingojiguda municipal division.
The election to the Lingojiguda division was necessitated following the death of BJP leader Akula Ramesh Goud who won the election from the division. The party took a serious note of the meeting with Rama Rao without the consent of the State party president and other senior leaders including Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy.
The party was also of the opinion that such a move would affect its image. No one discussed the issue related to unanimous election within the party and directly met Rama Rao, Sanjay said in a statement.
He said stern action would be taken against those who try to tarnish the party’s image. He said information pertaining to the Lingojiguda election circulated on social media was also false.
