Guntur: Several BJP leaders have demanded renaming the Jinnah Tower Centre in Guntur city.

BJP state president Somu Veerraju on Thursday felt that the names of traitors should be removed all over the country while BJP national secretary Satya Kumar wondered how the name of Jinnah who was responsible for partition of India, could be continued for a landmark tower as well as the area here.


In Hyderabad, Gosha Mahal MLA of BJP Raja Singh also opined the name of Jinnah who was responsible for partition as also for the death of several people, should not be continued. He demanded the Andhra Pradesh govenment to remove Jinnah’s name from the place immediately and rename it after freedom fighters or Abdul Kalam or poet Gurram Jashua.
