Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit has promised free covid-19 diagnostic tests for all and vaccination as per the Union government’s directions in its GHMC election manifesto. The manifesto released by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here on Thursday also promises official celebration of liberation day on September 17 and implementation of Ayushman Bahart in the GHMC area.

The BJP declared that it would scrap the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) , Rs 25 ,000 relief to each one of the flood affected families and free power to all those domestic consumers who use less than 100 units of power in the GHMC area. “The State government has assured 2bhk houses to all, but failed to construct and handover any, so we have decided to give 1 lakh houses to the poor in GHMC area. In Maharashtra the BJP government has constructed 10 lakh rural and 5 lakh urban houses for the poor,” Fadnavis said.

The BJP promised free travel to all the women in all modes of transport including Metro in the city by entering into an agreement with the operators while the government will subsidise the travel. Giving details on the proposed strengthening of online education, Fadnavis said that the BJP if voted to power will distribute free Tabs to all poor school kids so that they can also benefit from the ongoing online education programmes.

“To help the poor children to benefit from the virtual world there will be free Wi-Fi supply to all the slums and SC colonies in the city,” he said. The BJP promised no charges for permissions to constrict houses within 125 square yards of land and supply of free 24 hour drinking water to all the domestic consumers.

The BJP will set up a fund of Rs 10,000 crore in the name of “Sumedha” who has lost her life by accidentally falling into an open nala to rejuvenate Musi River on the lines of Namo Gange and Sabarmati River front project. “The aim is to release the city of Hyderabad from the clutches of K Chandrashekhar Rao and Asaduddin Owaisi and give it back to the people of the city,” he said.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy, BJP national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav, State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, BJP OBC Morcha President Dr K Laxman, and others were also present at the release of manifesto.
