Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Saturday said the BJP was spewing venom in Telangana and alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched against Telangana since Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently spoke against the State in Parliament after eight years of its formation.

Speaking after laying foundation stone for various development works in Velpur, Marthand, Yergatla and other areas in Balkonda Assembly constituency in Nizamabad, he justified the recent remarks of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on the BJP.

Instead of giving more funds for Telangana, the BJP was questioning its formation, he said, seeking to know the reasons behind Prime Minister’s remarks on the formation of Telangana.

“Is it a conspiracy to merge Telangana with Andhra Pradesh?” he said, asking the youth to be careful and question the BJP leaders on the issue. He said the State especially villages was witnessing development in all fields since 2014.

He asked as why the Central government was not sanctioning more funds like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. The Centre failed to give national status to the projects in Telangana. It sanctioned 157 new medical colleges and 87 Navodaya educational institutions. But not a single institute was allocated for Telangana.

The Minister said foundation stone was laid for several development works at a cost of over Rs 100 crore.
