Huzurabad: Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy on Friday said the Central government introduced various schemes to help poor people in the country.
From extending subsidies on fertilizers and urea to giving free rice to the poor people till Diwali in view of the Covid pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was leaving no stone unturned in helping the poor people, he said, addressing an election campaign in Huzurabad Assembly constituency.
It was the Prime Minister who announced five kg free rice to the poor and needy persons till Diwali festival apart from extending subsidies on fertilizers and urea to help farmers, Reddy said requesting people to support the BJP during the by-election.
Under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, the Central government was spending crores of rupees for laying new roads and improving connectivity to unconnected villages in the country. Before starting the campaign, Reddy offered prayers at Ramalayam temple in Ellanthakunta.
At a separate election campaign in Shanigaram and other places in Huzurabad, State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar listed out the allocations made by the Central government for the development of villages. He said the Central government had spent Rs 79,000 crore to give fertilizers and urea to farmers on subsidy. He said cases were booked against the BJP leaders including party MLA T Raja Singh for fighting on behalf of the people and to protect Hindu dharma.
“This is the commitment of our party leaders who always works for the welfare of the people. Raja Singh regularly attends court since several cases were booked against him,” he said.
